Update 1.21.24 Changelog


Update

This update contains some new features and changes, both minor and major. There is also now a downloadable version which should offer improved performance over the web version. Please report any bugs or if you encounter poor performance.

Major

  • Saving and Loading! (Please keep in mind future updates may break save files, and progress will need to be reset. Also note that in the web version, saves are stored through the web browser so clearing your browser may delete the saves. Use the downloadable windows build for better save feature)
  • Enemies can now shoot projectiles (ATM only the skull enemy does this)
  • Controller Support - The game is mostly playable with a controller and future improvements will be made to this
  • New currency: Money Gems. These will be used for permanent upgrades that benefit all of the characters.
  • New attack type: Orbital attacks. These attacks orbit around the player. Currently, there is only 1 of these and more will be added
  • New pickups: Magnet and Health. The magnet attracts all gems(xp and money) and health pickups will heal you.
  • Critical Hits. Weapons now have a slight chance for a critical hit, dealing x2 damage. The damage number popup of a critical hit is yellow with an exclamation mark at the end, and the text size will be slightly bigger.
  • Enemy Collision. Enemies will no longer stack on top of each other!

Minor

  • Burn, Poison, and bleed damage dealt is now shown on the damage breakdown panel
  • XP Gems have a glowish effect
  • Cooldown reduction passive is now a percentage instead of flat rate. This is the first of a few passives that will be based on percentage rather than flat rate
  • New main menu (Currently, the background in the web build does not show and will be fixed once a solution is found)(Hotfixed)
  • New level up menu (I was a little iffy on this one, may change further)
  • Fix: Auto upgrade would only select the first choice in skill upgrades, it now randomly selects between both choices

Hotfixes/Minor Post Changes

  • Main menu background not showing in web build(it now shows BUT you will notice the video slightly lagging. The game itself shouldn't lag but the bg video will. Should be fine in downloadable windows build)
  • Slime King not activating (A previous change prevented the boss from activating, and is now fixed)
  • Slime king health increased (250->300)
  • Skull enemy health and fire rate decreased

What's next?

The main priority of the next update will be the permanent upgrade menu, character skill trees, more passives and adjustments to passives, and polishing the current features. This update will hopefully be ready by next sunday, the 28th. However, it may arrive even sooner or later depending on if any issues arise.
